This hard to find stereo view of Mahatma Gandhi is in very good condition. It is Keystone view 28030. The reverse of the card has a biography of Gandhi written by C. F. Andrews, who was the official biographer of Mahatma Gandhi and is signed by Andrews. Andrews tells us that Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 and was raised in the extreme west of India. He was from a family of official traditions and at eighteen left India for England to prepare himself for the bar, studying in London. H returned to India where he practiced law, but was called to South Africa, where conditions among his fellow countrymen influenced him to remain. From 1893 until 1914, with intervals in India, he remained there and introduced the world to the principle of passive resistance as a means of obtaining justice for his people.
His title of Mahatma, or Great Soul, came from those who consider him a saint, and his the highest type of self-sacrifice and idealism.
This view is in very good condition. There is a line, somewhat like a scratch, across about 1" of the middle right picture. It is only noticeable if you turn picture to different angles and in no way detracts. I only mention for full disclosure. i would consider this condition to be excellent.
