Stereo view of Sicily (Sicilia) apparently produced by "R. Rive" (inscribed on right hand side of view). Inscribed title on left side of view: "1715. Palermo,Villa Julia Statua de Palermo". Handwritten inscription on reverse side reads: "Palermo" Palermo (sic), Feb. 27, 1872". Square cornered, tan colored, flat view (characteristic of views prior to 1900 when curved mounts generally came into use) appears to be hand trimmed and not perfectly squared on left and right sides, which does not affect the viewing area. The view is in very good condition. What a nice old view!
