This wonderful view is of Fifty Avenue in New York City. It is looking north from Thirty-eighth Street. This 1920s view shows the sidewalks bustling with people and the streets jammed with cars and double decker buses. The lady's hats are so typically 1920s. There is a policeman standing in the middle of the street probably wondering how to get it all under control.
In 1924 Fifth Avenue celebrated its 100th anniversary and there were exhibits of history, romance, art, business and finance assembled along its decorated miles all the way from its beginning at Washington Square. This was a marvel even for seasoned New Yorkers.
This is Keystone view 32571 and is in very good condition.
I will be happy to combine purchases to save on shipping costs. International orders are always welcome.
