I've had this in my personal collection for about 20 years and am downsizing some of my collectibles so here it is.
A wonderful and rare vintage - most likely Austrian- circa 1920-30's Dachshund cigarette lighter.
His head in on a hinge which tilts back to reveal the lighter wheel, which still sparks when flicked.

The doggie is in pretty good condition though far from mint. Missing some original paint as shown in photos. I think some of the metal was removed under his neck where it opens as you can see in the photo. Not sure why, but it doesn't show when his head is down and the lighter part is covered. There may have been a latch there that is gone perhaps. I haven't seen any others so have nothing to compare it to. It still displays well.

It measures 4" long and is 1 3/4" high.

Really a wonderful rare piece for your collection.
