Beautiful and decidedly Deco piece from the roaring 1920s. Heavier, faceted lead crystal beads in quasi barrel shapes of differing sizes. The smoked honey / Cognac color beads are cut and polished ovals blending well with the shape of the crystals. I am unable to determine or guarantee the material of these smooth beads. I can say they are not Copal, horn or glass or Lucite. From the different testing and research I've done, I believe it to be Amber, not Bakelite. Regardless of the material, this piece is a wonderful design and entirely strung on thicker foxtail chain that has tarnished appropriately for its antique age. Wears at 20 inches around the neck with the drop falling 2.75 inches lower. Shown displayed on a life size small mannequin bust.
The necklace is in very good condition and wears a fabulously as it displays. Easily coordinates with today's fashion!
