Hand Woven tie silk Patchwork Maxi skirt made from the same mid-weight silk fabric as vintage ties. The weaves are the same diagonal, chevron, and plain weave. The color coordinated patterns pull the theme together. The colors are black, red, yellow, and white. The skirt has a lining that is attached at the waist. The lining is red silk which has a big 6" hem which is sewn with red lace seam binding. The deep hem allows the skirt/lining to hand better since is has extra weight from the double hem. The skirt is in excellent vintage condition. I do not see evidence of wear.
Nantucket looms was started in Nantucket Island, Massachusetts in 1968 when patchwork skirts were in vogue. This skirt was made in the late 1960's to 70's. This style skirt was worn for AT HOME WEAR and for Parties.
