Young partners Carl Davis & Kermith Morgan founded a high end clothing store for affluent blacks at 715 Amsterdam Avenue in 1968. Both men migrated from the South from hard-working families. They had a dream and their dream was instantly coming true. The first year they made a profit. Carl Davis they decided to do the designing and that was very successful, also. While Carl Davis was attending his own birthday party on July 13, 1977 their store, LeMans was looted by poor blacks in the area. There was a metropolitan area blackout. By the time the partners were informed of the looting two hours later, the store was bare of all merchandise.

The light gray heather wool double breasted suit / sports jacket features a wide saddle stitched lapel and two large patch pockets. The jacket was made in Italy and so was the fabric. . It bears the LeMans By Carl Davis label. The jacket was barely worn. It shows no signs of wear.
