This Tropical Leaf screen print is from the 1940's or 50's. The ground is acetate with shiny silk noil kind of slubs on a dull ground. This makes the fabric a shiny/dull combination which was very popular for curtains and draperies and also shower curtains. Of course, it would require a plastic liner.
The colors of the large tripical leaves are a soft jade green and a soft coral. There is also gray and brown in the print with black outlines.
The fabric measures 7 yards at 45" wide. One cluster measures 13" long and 15" wide and another is 14" long and 10.5" wide. The repeat is about 23" wide. This would make striking drapes or a swag! The condition is excellent. It was stored away for many years just waiting for you! ENJOY!
