From my own collection is this STRIKINGLY Different brightly colored abstract striped 3 piece suit by designer MARY ANN RESTIVO that was manufactured in Hong Kong in the 1980's. The jacket is lined with rayon and the skirt waist band has 2 sets of metal hooks 2" apart to make waist adjustable. The THREE piece 100% silk suit was never worn. It still has its original hang tags and price tags dangling from the sleeve.
The colors are HOT PINK; BRIGHT GREEN; BRIGHT GOLDEN YELLOW; PINK;& BLACK outline...in a horizontal striped pattern. The pieces consist of a cap sleeved long over-blouse with bottom slits; pleated skirt with small box pleats; and a long fitted jacket with side slit pockets and large round gold toned buttons with rose faceted lucite buttons. It absolutely kills me to sell this outfit...but I will never be this size again!
Here are the measurements:
OVER BLOUSE WITH 8" SIDE SLITS ALSO CAN BE TUCKED UNDER SKIRT.. SIZE 6
SKIRT SIZE 8..ADJUSTABLE WAIST..SMALL BOX PLEATS
JACKET SIZE 4
As you can see each piece is a different size. I was size a size 8 on top and a size 8 or 10 on the bottom at that time. Tops ran larger in the 1980'. For alterations I find that taking garments to the local dry cleaner is the most reasonable route. In my area most are Asian and they had studied tailoring at an early age. It also good to get a recommendation before you decide on a taylor.
