Victorian style 2 piece dress and over-blouse made by a seamstress who also was a collector in the 1950's. The sleeveless dress is made of light-weight silk shantung. The over-blouse is of green silk taffeta and lined with the shantung. The over-blouse is trimmed on the edges of the neck, sleeves, and bottom with vintage ribbon lace. The dress closes with snaps. The dress also features a coordinating cap of same materials...as pictured.
The outfit is in excellent vintage condition. The dress has been worn by a doll. The only negative thing I can see is that one sleeve needs a few stitches.
I was told that the doll was made in Italy in Mid-Century. The doll is in good condition; her head has to be adjusted. There is rope with a metal hook at the base of her neck. Her hair feels like spun cotton candy. She stands 33" tall and is hollow plastic. I would offer her for sale separately at a reasonable price.
Here are the measurements of her dress & cap....
SHOULDER TO SHOULDER...7"
OVER BLOUSE LENGTH...13.5"
LENGTH OF DRESS & OVER-BLOUSE...18"
PLEASE NOTE: The cotton bloomers did not come with the dress.
THE CAP has elastic back...
INSIDE MEASUREMENT...16.5"..pulls to 20.5"
