There is some enameled places on this little brass piece that has China etched on bottom. The handle has what looks like a pagota temple and the lid has three vignettes of decoration. It can be used as an ashtray but my guess is it is for disposing of crumbs on the table. Overall size is 3 ½” x 2 7/8” x 1” not counting handle. Handle is almost 3” long. It is probably from the 1930’s but not sure on that so don’t quote me. It is in very good condition and has not been polished for years so there is a patina to piece. Check out the pictures on this interesting part of history.
