Handsome trout-like fish, facing to left with smaller fish about to jump behind him. Lighter green water plants abound in green water. Deeply scalloped edges are richly burnished with gold enamel. Two of scallops serve as shallow handles.
Signed by J. Barin, listed artist. Borgfeldt’s Coronet mark # 1, used 1906-1920 (Gaston, p. 71); maker’s mark is Coiffe’s seven-pointed star with letters of Limoges on points used 1891-1914 (Gaston, mark #2, p. 90).
Condition is excellent with a tiny dimple from making close to center of plate.
We have three of these plates, all signed and each one a bit different. Be sure to visit all three.
