We’re offering this pair of lovely slag glass bulb planters made by Akro Agate Company. They are white and blue swirl glass (or slag glass) in the Jonquil pattern. Each is embossed with jonquils on each side and enhanced with swirls of blue in the milky white glass. The front of one is solid white; blue swirls adorn the sides and back. The other is enhanced on all sides with swirls of blue in the milky white glass. They measure 5 ¼” long x 3” wide and 2 ¼” tall.
They are signed on underside with Akro’s crow flying through a block-letter A under U.S.A. Also embossed with number 657. Made circa 1970 (Kovels).
There is no sign of damage or wear to the one with the mostly solid white front. The one with blue swirls on all sides has a tiny chip to the inside rim (shown). There are no other signs of damage or wear. Lovely to use for bulb flowers, or to add to a collection of American Glass.
