This is a sweet cerulean warbler from the Stangl Pottery, all hand painted in light (or cerulean) blue with black and white markings. He’s perched on a clump of large green leaves and pink flowers and is very life-like. The figurine measures 4 ¼” tall x about 3 ¼” wide.

Signed JVF for Josephine Van Roy at the Flemington plant (Runge p. 90). Also marked with shape number 3456; all marks are under the glaze. Made from 1940-1960; underglaze oval sticker, Stangl / Pottery / Birds, used only during ‘40s ( p. 102).

Condition of cerulean warbler is excellent with just a bit of crazing on the underside of the bird between the wingtips. There are no chips, cracks, scratch marks or repairs. This is a pretty, perky little bird waiting to be enjoyed!
