Here’s a sweet demi tasse set in Shelley’s Dainty shape, this time in the “Rose, Pansy, Forget-Me-Not” pattern with blue trim. Lovely transfers of roses, pansies and forget-me-nots are scattered over the little fluted cup and the matching scalloped saucer. The pale blue loop handle has a tiny thumb rest. And there is one pansy all alone inside the cup.
The cup measures 2 3/8” across rim x 2 3/8” tall. Saucer is 4 ¾” wide x ½” high.
Marked on undersides of both pieces with the green Shelley mark, with Shelley underscored in script inside an oblong shield with Fine Bone China above and England below. This backstamp was used from 1938-1966 (The Shelley Group). Also in green is Registered Number 272101 which is for the Dainty form.
There is a tiny fleck of kiln dust under the glaze in the saucer. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing. Beautiful! And ready to join your collection!
