We’re presenting this lovely 1890s trumpet shaped Limoges chocolate cup, hand painted front and back with posies of African violets on washes of blue, tan, white and green. The flared rim and the foot of the cup are richly covered with gold enamel. The pretty loop handle which ends in little porcelain ribbons also is done in gold enamel. The interior and bottom of the cup are pure white Limoges porcelain. Measures 3 ¼” tall x 3” diameter at rim x 2 1/8” across foot.
The Mark, underglaze in green, is Haviland arching over France in a straight line. This mark was used from 1894-1931 (Gaston, p 178, mark 12).
The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing. Just beautiful!
