From Finland’s Arabia pottery, we have this charming little blue and white demitasse (or demi tasse) cup and saucer in the Finn Flower Blue pattern. The cup bears two blue posies of Finn flowers and the saucer has one at the very center. Both the cup and saucer are white with borders in blue featuring linked leaves, all around the inside of the cup’s rim and the outer and inner top surface of the saucer. There’s a scattering of small flowers and leaves inside the two borders on the saucer. The saucer also boasts the slightly irregular contour which gives this pattern its characteristic rustic appearance.
The cup measures 2 ½” wide x 1 ½” tall; the saucer is 4” in diameter.
Both pieces are marked Arabia / Made in / Finland under a crown. Made 1955-1970, discontinued.
Both pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing.
We have recently acquired a marvelous estate collection of cups and saucers - mostly demitasse, espresso, and chocolate cups - and will be listing them in small batches over the next few weeks. This is an eclectic collection, with one common element: they were all chosen as pieces of exceptional quality and taste. Included in our current listings you will find sets for all budgets, from Herend to Haviland, Aynsley to Copeland Spode.
Cups and saucers - especially the diminutive demitasse - make a wonderful Christmas present for someone special. If you're interested in a particular maker or style you don't see, please email us, and we may have it on hand.
