Brilliant and festive as only Pickard’s AOG can be, this little Rose and Daisy pattern vase is “all over gold” on the outside and lined with Pickard’s equally popular Mint Green glaze on the inside. The etched Rose and Daisy pattern is enhanced by three areas of smooth gold, at the mouth of the vase, at the raised band which encircles the middle section, and again at the fluted foot. The smooth band is adorned at the center by a ring of etched daisies. – And all of that is on a vase that measures 7” tall x 4 1/4'” at the rim x 2 7/8” at the foot!
Marked on underside with Pickard’s first trademark, a gold-on-gold lion inside a shield used from 1925-1930 (Reed, Mark 11, p. 72). Number 853 also appears in gold.
Overall condition is excellent, but there is an unfortunate small area of gold loss on one side, about ½” below the raised band, measuring 3/8” wide x 7/8” long. It looks worse in the photos than it is and doesn’t show at all in strong light, but we have adjusted the price to reflect the condition. – And we know you are going to love owning it, especially during the holidays!
