With an underside of white porcelain typical of Worcester’s blush ivory, this lovely bonbon dish is a blend of deep cream color and muted pink on a matte finish. The edges are lined with gold, and the lovely flowers, blue and purple clematis and small wildflowers, also are delicately lined with gold. The four “leaves” which make up the dish all are scalloped at the edges and touched with 22k gold which has been rubbed and fired into the scallops. The piece measures 6 ¾” long x 4 ¾” wide x 1” high. There is a recessed glazed foot which follows the contour of the dish and measures about 3/16” high.
Underside is stamped with Worcester’s mark for 1894, the logo in puce with Royal Worcester England below and three dots (Godden’s #4354). The Registered Number 222282 is for 1893 (The Potteries) and the pattern number is 1697; both are in puce.
There is a tiny chip to the top edge of one scallop, less than 1/8” long and a bit of gold loss also to the top edge. Otherwise in very fine condition.
