This lovely Miss Muffet wears a long aqua green cloak with the hood thrown back to show her matching cap trimmed with bright pink bows. Her dress, shoes and cane-handled umbrella are all a paler pink. Her wonderful muff is ermine matching the ermine trim on her cloak, which trails behind her. She has a sweet little face with just a hint of a smile as she stands, (presumably) in the wind and snow. The figure is beautifully painted and full of life. It measures 5 3/4” tall x 2 5/8” wide x 3 1/2" deep.
This mark, with the HN number hand written, the figure's name printed, and Bone China added to the logo, was used from 1932-1945. (Mark itself used from 1928-1959. Sources: China Finders, Dating Royal Burslem; and Buying Guides, Doulton Marks and Backstamps, both on-line.) There is a very tiny nick to the top point of the umbrella, 1/16” long, at the rear side. We couldn’t get it to show in a photo (except in the enlargements). The overall condition of this charming figurine is excellent, with no crazing, scratches, paint loss, or cracks.
