Done all in blue on white, this small character plate resembles Delft ware and has the same charm. The subject is a huntsman sitting in a high-backed chair in a pub. He holds his riding crop in one hand and a glass in the other. His arm rests on a table on which he has placed his hat and hunting horn. His dog sleeps under the table next to his master’s sturdy boots. There’s a small cartouche at the bottom of the picture with Huntsman written in blue.
Plate measures 4 ¼” in diameter x 5/8” high.
