Done all in blue on white, this small character plate resembles Delft ware and has the same charm. The subject is a game keeper sitting on a bench in a pub. His hat and shoulder pack are on the bench beside him and his rifle leans against the wall. His feet in buckled shoes rest on the cobbled floor and a fire blazes in a large fireplace in the background. There’s a small cartouche at the bottom of the picture with Game Keeper written in blue. Plate measures 4 ¼” in diameter x 5/8” high.
Mark on back is Enoch Wedgwood (Tunstall) Ltd arched over a unicorn head with England / Trade Mark / Founded in 1835. This mark was used by Enoch Wedgwood from 1965-1980 (The Potteries). Condition is excellent with no flaws, chips, cracks, scratches or crazing.
