This is a sweet but subtle little figurine of a boy wearing a broad-brimmed hat with a bird perched on top as he walks with long strides in his clogs playing his concertina. He carries a small rucksack which is a muted blue-gray as are his trousers, shoes and hat. The concertina is pale pink; the grass underfoot is pale green. The little bird is a brighter blue with a brighter pink breast. There’s an embossed flower on the boy’s hat and one on the ground. Altogether a charming scene.
Figure measures 6 ¼” tall x 4 5/8” long x 2 ¼” wide. Mark is a combined M and O under a crown, inside a circle over Germany. Used by Metzler and Ortloff from 1923-1972 (PM&M). Lovely little piece! Excellent condition.
