Simple and understated, this figurine of a little girl feeding three geese is done in muted tones of blue, white and gray. Like many of Gerold’s figures, it captures perfectly a sweet, un-self conscious moment of childhood. Measures 6 ¼” tall x 4 5/8” wide; it is 4 ½” x 3 1/8” at base.
Mark on underside is Gerold Porzellan under a crowned shield over Bavaria / Made in / Western-Germany. Mark is mid-20th Century, c. 1949-1950. Impressed number 5245 is for the model. Also bears a foil sticker in gold and black from Ebeling and Reuss, importers, of Philadelphia.
Condition is excellent.
