This is an especially bright and bold piece in the Aynsley Orchard Gold pattern signed by resident artist, Doris Jones. Lovely center of dish, done with hand painting and transfer, bears a still life of peaches, plums and berries on a deep yellow field. The scalloped edge is bordered with a 1/4" gold band which blends beautifully with the rich yellow background. The dish measures 7 1/8” x 6” x 1 ½” tall.
Mark on underside shows a crown/ Aynsley/England/Bone China, all in green over the glaze. Pattern number D1013 also appears. Mark was used from 1934–1939 by Kenneth Aynsley, grandson of John Aynsley, at the Portland Works, Longton, Stoke-on Trent (The Potteries and Artifact Free Encyclopedia).
Condition is excellent with no damage of any kind and no crazing. Abundant gold trim is bright and lovely.
