Lovely and delicate antique Tressemann and Vogt Limoges cup and saucer set, adorned with purple hand painted violets on a multicolor pastel background. Shades of pink, blue, green, and yellow cover the exterior of the cup and the matching saucer. The cup handle is gold enamel as are the rims of both cup and saucer. There is little or no rubbing wear to the gold.
T&V mark #7, circa 1892 - 1907 (Gaston, p. 293). Signed on the base in gold with the artist's initials, LEF. No damage at all to either piece, but some of the purple paint from the violets has encroached on the pink in the saucer. The blue background on both pieces has small dots of color as well, which may be an error, or made to look like a robin's egg. In either case, the effect is charming! Cup measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 1 5/8" at the foot. Saucer is 5 5/8" diameter. This is one of two T&V cup and saucer sets with hand painted violets that we are offering.
