We’re offering this sweet little individual salt dish made by Paroutaud Freres of Limoges and Sevnie ,(a company that existed for only 14 years). Hand painted, it stands on three little gold feet. The top half of the small bowl is pale blue matte covered with lovely hand painted roses; the bottom is glossy pale green topped by a line of gold enamel. The rim and the little feet also are in gold enamel. The interior of the bowl is opalescent. Piece measures 2” in diameter x 1 ½” tall.
Underside is marked La Sevnie / Limoges / P.P /France in dark green under the glaze. This mark was in use only from 1903-1917 (Gaston, ‘Limoges’ p. 372). There is some discoloration to the pearlescent glaze in the interior of the bowl and a bit of paint loss to the undersides of the feet. But there is no real damage to this pretty little item, no crazing, cracks, chips, or scratches. A charming and delicate individual salt.
