Hammersley celebrates Christmas with a bell of white porcelain adorned with four lovely angels in gold enamel. Each one is playing an instrument, harp, trumpet, tambourine and violin. Bottom of bell, base and top of handle edged with gold enamel. Hard bisque clapper is on a little gold metal chain and produces a clear, strong tone.
Inside marked with acorn and oak leaf over crown, Hammersley Fine Bone China over England and 1971, all in gold enamel. Inscription, “When you mee ring ile sweetly sing” is inside the bell, also in gold enamel.
Measures 3 7/8” in diameter x 5 5/8” tall. There is a bit of rubbing to 1971 inside bell (last photo). Condition is excellent with no damage or defects.
