We have here a china wall sconce shaped like a steeple mantel clock in the familiar Metlox Poppytrail Provincial pattern. Glazed in white, speckled with pale blue, the front of the clock bears a picture of a man plowing with horses in front of a large house and a tree, all in bright blue. Above is a clock face with gold enamel Roman numerals and hands. Each side shows blue leafless tree on the speckled background. There’s a little hole at the back for hanging. Signed on underside Poppytrail by Metlox and Made in California, mark is partly rubbed off; this pattern was made from 1950-1982. A paper label with script MS is also on bottom. The piece measures 7 ½” tall x 5” wide x 3” deep. There’s some discoloration to interior and a chip to one corner of the bottom which can’t be seen from above (shown). Otherwise it is in great condition with no cracks, crazing or scratches. Charming.
