Here is a handsome hand painted porcelain bowl with an Asian look, featuring an exotic bird of many colors with a long curving tail, among wide open orange chrysanthemums and their rich green leaves. There’s a foliate band around the inside at top with the tiniest gold enamel leaves; this is embellished with four stylized chrysanthemums. The pierced handles are richly gold-enameled as is the rim of the bowl, and each handle is flanked by a molded feather design also edged in gold enamel.
Mark on pure white underside is the large script K for Kammer under a crown. Underneath, also in script, is Handgemalt or hand painted. Both images are imposed on a purple tower which we have not seen on other Kammer pieces. We believe this piece to have been made between 1954 and 1990 because it was part of an estate that contained only East German porcelain. Measures 9 ¼” handle-to- handle x 2 7/8” tall from table to handle top.
This lovely bowl is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing.
