Here we have a Metlox Poppytrail porcelain mustard or jam pot in the shape of a jug, in the Homestead Provincial pattern. The pot is cylindrical, in white glaze stippled with blue. The front shows a farmhouse and tree with corn shocks in foreground, all in blue. The lid is solid blue and molded like the top of a jug with a finger-grip and a porcelain cork; there’s a little gap for a spoon. Signed on underside Poppytrail Made in California by Metlox; mark used from 1950-1982. The jar measures 3 1/6” tall x 3 1/16” in diameter. Lid is 2 ¾” in diameter x 1 ¾” tall; piece is 4 5/8” tall with lid.
Inside of lid has three small chips, one of which can be seen from the side (photo 3). There are no cracks, scratches or crazing. Price reflects condition.
