This is a droll little S/P set, a plastic rendering of a Model T Ford featuring a dignified driver (the pepper shaker) with a handlebar mustache, driving goggles and red cap, and his female companion (salt shaker) in a broad-brimmed yellow hat with a scarf to tie it down.

Both figures come out of the car to be used as shakers and will stand alone. The body of the car is shiny black plastic; the grille, radiator cap, front axle and "ooga-ooga" horn are colored gold; the wheels are red. The figures are about 2" tall. The car measures 5 5/8" long x 3" wide x 3" tall to top of windshield. The underside is marked Pat. Pend. Made in U.S.A. with a mark underneath that looks like a backward 3. This set is featured in a full-page photo in 'Great Shakes' by Bosker, p. 21. Bosker dates it to the 1950s.

This entertaining and unusual salt and pepper set set is flawless, with no cracks or breaks in any of the pieces. We think it will make a great addition to your collection!
