This lively old glass juice pitcher set is hand painted with bright tomatoes and leaves. There's a round pitcher (sometimes called a tip pitcher) which leans forward, has an applied handle, a horizontally ridged neck and an ice guard. And there are four matching glasses. The dainty pitcher is just 6 3/4" tall x 7" wide. The lightly tapered glasses are 3 1/2" tall x 2 1/8" across the top and 1 1/2" at base.
This set is unmarked, but undoubtedly Anchor Hocking from the late '40 to early '50s. There's a small chip where the bottom of the applied handle is joined to the pitcher; it can be felt, but is not easy to see. There's a flea bite at the rim of one glass. Very minor wear to the paint.
This is a delightful old household charmer and will be a cheerful showpiece in the kitchen.
