An evening bracelet by Miriam Haskell (designed by Frank Hess) which matches the Haskell red melon bead necklace and earrings (listed separately). Three strands of gorgeous bright red melon beads in several sizes with an elaborate clasp motif and dangling melon beads. The motif (which has a hidden clasp) consists of star-shaped form covered in rose montées, additional melon beads and clear rhinestones in a half-circle shape. Stone settings and filigree backs are gilt metal in Haskell’s Russian gilt plating. A safety chain has been added.
Haskell presented three major collections per year: fall, spring and holiday, and two minor collections: summer and resort. In each collection there would be several lines, with colors chosen for the particular season, for example, jewel-tones and rhinestones for the holiday line. The pieces in each line were constructed in three levels of complexity, for the time of day being worn (morning, afternoon, evening). The items included in a line varied through the years according to fashion dictates.
This bracelet is shown in Miriam Haskell Jewelry, by Gordon and Pamfiloff, page 179.
