The doll is completely original and has a full set of original clothes and accessories what allow to enjoy the idea of the artist. The body was never resorted or repainted. Her original luxurious thick wig is made of natural hair, the original cork pate, original straw hat decorated with a brooch and a feather, original and complete undergarments, dress and the shoes. Clothes are very beautiful portraying the style of the French fashion period between 17 -18 century. It is amazing that her dress survived, in spite of the fabric, which is so loved by moles. She was kept carefully and loved. This beautiful doll is in stunning condition.
She is about 130 years old and in excellent condition, expect for natural little chipped paint on the right hand, that only makes the doll more desirable for a true collector. The doll is so warm and exquisite that you would love to hold her.
This petite showcase doll will adorn any refined collection. There is no better gift for a collector than an all original rare doll in excellent condition with no restoration.
I would like to emphasize that the heads of these dolls are similar to the heads of Gaultier Bebe dolls. There is not too much information about Fleishman&Bloedel factory. It is known that the factory only manufactured their dolls. Therefore, it is possible that early dolls heads might been ordered on F.Gaultier factory.
About the manufacturer
Eden Bebe, a trade name, is more familiar than the manufacturer, Fleischmann&Bloedel Doll Factory. The company was established in 1873 in Fürth, Bavaria, and Paris, France. In 1899. Saloman Fleischmann formed and became director of the Societe Francaise de Fabrication de Bebes & Jouets (S.F.B.J.). The firm changed directors and ownership many times and eventually filed for bankruptcy in the early 1920s.
I am ready to answer any questions that may arise regarding the doll.
