Artist Signed, Numbered Print - San Diego's Balboa Park Bell Tower, Cabrillo Bridge - image 1 of 6

This is a print of bell tower at the entrance of Balboa Park as seen from below the Cabrillo bridge. This beautiful structure was apparently built in San Diego for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition and has been the subject of many artists. This appears to have been done with pen and ink and was printed on a heavy watercolor type paper. The print area is impressed into the paper so it appears that it is matted. The print is titled, numbered, signed and dated, all in pencil. It reads; Bell Tower - 1/25. The date 10/81 is within the artist’s signature which I believe is John with a last name starting with a “Z” and possibly ending with “di”.

The print is backed with foam core and covered with a heavy plastic that is wrapped around and taped on the back side. This appears to be original and was probably done as an inexpensive was of displaying and selling the print in the 1980’s. The overall size of the paper measures about 11/14/” by 15” and the depressed area of the drawing measures about 5 ¾” by 9 ¾”. The print appears to be in very good condition with minimal wear. The plastic cover is wavy and lightly soiled and the lower right corner of the foam core has been damaged as shown in the photos. This is a nice piece of artwork that deserves to be framed and enjoyed.
