This old bottle opener is advertising Coca-Cola and it would have been mounted on the wall or on the front of a soda cooler. The top portion reads; Drink Coca-Cola (in script). Below the bottle opener portion it reads; Starr “X”– Patd. Apr. 1925 Brown Co. N News, VA. Countersunk screw holes are at the top and near the bottom. On the back it is stamped with the number 53. It appears to be cast iron with a nickel plating. This is a vintage bottle opener, I believe from the 1950’s.
It measures about 3 ¼” long by 2 ¾” at the widest part and is in good, but not great condition. It still retains some of the original red paint but much of it is worn. The plating is fairly good but where it is worn and/or was thinly applied there is discoloration and rust, primarily on the back.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
