This is a very nice apparatus for sharpening old double edge razor blades, in particular, Gillette blades which is stated on the housing. It is an old Spiro Automatic Stropper from the John Watts of London & Sheffield. The body of the nickel plated stropper has a clip at one end. When that is released the hinged body opens to reveal four rollers with leather straps and a bar for the blade. The blade is placed over the two post on the bar and then the housing is closed and secured. The crank is then turned to rotate the rollers which strop the razor. It comes in its unique, original paper covered cardboard box.

The body measures about 2 3/8” by 2 7/8” by 2 ½” but the crank extends out further on side. It is in very good condition with minimal wear to the plating and light use to the leather on the rollers. The box measures about 2 7/8” by 2 ¾” by 4 1/8” high and is in fairly good condition with edge wear to the paper wear and small tears, however it does have an old repair where it was hand sewn along a couple of the seams.
