This classic looking, bulbous fat car, fashioned after a Pontiac, was made in Japan in the early 1950's. It is made of tin, painted red with lots of plated tin trim and a painted blue detail down the front hood and the trunk. It even has a simplified rendition of the Pontiac hood ornament. It has rubber tires and all of its original tin hubcaps. It never had interior detailing. Other than; Made in Japan stamped into the bottom plate, there is no other indication of a manufacturer.
It measures about 10 ½” long by 5” wide and 4” high. It is in very nice condition with minor wear. The body and paint are good with nice gloss and minimal play wear. There are a few tiny dimple dents that don't damage the paint. There are some small scratches like the one on the passenger side front fender and hood. It has all of the decorative trim and the plating is generally good with minimal discoloration. The strip that runs across the driver’s side front fender has lost most of its plating and it is discolored and with light surface rust. The two pieces on the back fenders seem to have weak plating and minor discoloration. It never had interior details or plastic in the window trim. The rubber tires show play wear. They have hardened from age and are a little warped plus they have debris in the tread as though this toy was played with outdoors. The plating on the hubcaps has minor pitting and discoloration. The bottom of the car is clean. The friction motor works but it only travels an inch or so.
