This beautiful old coin was Mexico’s tribute to the 19th Summer Olympics held in Mexico City. On one side it reads; Juegos de la XIX Olympiada Mexico 1968. The nicely detailed image is called the Aztec Ball Player. At the bottom are the five interlocking Olympic rings. The reverse side has the Seal of Mexico, the iconic image of an eagle with a snake in its beak. The eagle appears to be perched upon a cactus plant. A wreath of sorts partially encircles the eagle with the words; Estatos Unidos Mexicanos. It also has 25 Pesos - Ley 0.720 and a small o cover an M. Around the outer edge of the coin it reads; Independencia Y Libertad. Basically it is 22.5 grams of .720 silver, minted in Mexico.

The coin measures about 1 ½” in diameter and is in very nice, circulated condition retaining most of the detail even on the feathers. This has not been graded.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
