This is an old medal from a bowling competition. On the front is a male bowler, toe to the line and ball poised for the throw. It has an unusual shape with scrolled embellishments towards the top. The metal has a yellow gold or brass color, probably plating over bronze. The back of the piece reads; Greater Newark Bowling Ass’n – State Championship Tournament – 1928. At the very bottom is Whitehead - Hoag. I believe it was made to go on a thin leather watch strap fob.
It measures about 1 3/8” at the widest by 1 ¾” in total length. It is in good condition with minimal wear and minor discoloration to the metal plating. The loop at the top has a slight bend.
