This is an old pair of leather moccasins. I think the think leather is either elk or buffalo. I believe they are hand crafted and they appear to be well made. They are laced around the upper edge with leather thong lacing. I'm not sure what material was used to attach the upper shoe leather to the sole but it seems to be a substantial looking fiber. The soles (probably cowhide) appear to be glued, probably with hide glue and then sewn on. The outside of the shoe has a flap with an antler button which is held on by a leather lace with is a nice detail. There is a leather thong looped to go over the button and it has brass beads at the knotted ends. I don’t find any indication of size and these may have been custom made for a specific size.
Measuring inside from toe tip to heel they measure about 11” long. With the heel against the wall the exterior measure almost 12” to the end of the toe. The sole, across the ball of the foot measures about 4” but the leather bulges out further than that. Since there is no size marked on them I cannot guarantee they are a specific size but they are probably a wide, 10 1/2 or 11. These are in nice condition but they are also used and have been worn. The uppers appear to be in very good condition. I can feel that the inner sole has conformed to a foot with a depression at the ball of the foot. Some of the stitching is worn down but since they also appear to be well glued they seem to be sound and look as though they will provide a lot more indoor wearability. They are being sold as-is
