This red plastic car is fashioned after a 1957 Chevy modified for the race circuit! The interior is equipped with a driver wearing a helmet and roll bars for safety. It even has a blower mounted to the hood and racing slicks on the rear. It has the original plastic windshields and the original decal on the back that reads; Delco Shock Special. Painted on the doors is 9 B/GS. Stamped on the bottom of the metal chassis is the AMF logo and Wen-Mac Made in U.S.A.. Using the spring clips at the back the body can be raised to wind the motor. There are two little plastic inserts at both the front and rear of the chassis which I have pointed out in the photos. I believe this is where a tether line was probably installed. Although it’s fashioned after a ’57 Chevy I think this was manufactured in the early 1960's in Los Angeles California.
The body of the car measures about 11 ¾” long by 4” wide by 4” high. Most of the plastic body has nice gloss and light scuff wear, mostly on the top. I tried to get a picture of it but doesn’t show very well. There is some wear to the “chrome” finish and the white paint on the doors shows wear and scratches. The windshields are intact. The tires show light play wear. It appears to be missing the exhaust on the driver’s side and the rear bumper. The wind-up motor is in working condition. I will include the key, it is an old key but not the original.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
