This jazzed up Model-T car is an old battery operated toy made by the Alps company in the 1960's. It is made of tin and plastic. It is brightly painted and detailed with wide plastic tires, shiny plastic exhaust pipes and front and side headlamps. The front end can be turned to go straight or in a circle. It uses 2 "D" cell batteries and the actions were supposedly “Stop & Go”, “Vibrating”, “Overheated, Boiling, Lighted Engine with Harmless Smoke”. On the back it is marked Alps Made in Japan. It takes 2 D-Cell batteries.
It measures about 10” long by 6’ wide at the rear tires and 5 5/8” high. It is in nice condition with minimal wear however there is a problem with the operation. It seems to be complete with no damage to the tin and plastic parts. The battery compartment is clean but one battery terminal is loose. With batteries inserted and tension put on the terminal (I used a Popcicle stick) the plastic engine lights up and it does smoke but there is no motor ignition so it doesn’t move and it doesn’t vibrate. It is being sold as-is and the price reflects the non-working condition.
