This colorful little tin and celluloid piece is an old wind-up toy. A white bunny rabbit is harnessed to a pastel green, tin sled. Attached to the sled is a pink celluloid basket and in the basket is an egg and little chick in the center. The driver holding the string reins is a duck in a pink hat and at the back of the basket is a baby duck. When the motor is wound the toy travels across the floor with the bell in the back ringing. I don’t find any marks on this but I have had one before that was marked Occupied Japan and I am sure that it is true of this one too.
It measures about 8” in length, 1 ¾” wide and 4” to the top of the baby chick. It does work and it will come with a key although it is not an old original key. The tin is in good condition with overall light play wear and with some paint loss on the harness portion. The celluloid has good colors and light paint wear but it does have some damage. One side of the bunny’s face is caved in. The bottom of his feet are worn and there holes in the bottom of three of them. The basketful of birds is in good condition. The damage has been considered in the price
