This little Ex-Lax tin is marked Free Sample on the front. This well known Chocolated Laxative is the type of item mailed to housewives in the 1940’s and 1950’s to get them to purchase the large size packages. This small tin with a slip on lid once held One Bar of 2 Tablets. On the back of the tin are directions for using this medicine. Made by Ex-Lax Inc. of Brooklyn.

The empty tin measures about 1 5/8” by 1 ¾” and is in nice condition with good gloss and minor scratch wear.
