This black plastic car is fashioned after a Corvette Stingray and it has a gas powered motor and was operated by a tether line. It has the original plastic windshields and the detailed interior and steering wheel. It also has the original tether wire. On the bottom of the metal chassis is the Cox logo, L.M. Cox Mfg. Co., Inc – Made in U.S.A. The engine is marked Thimble-Drome. I believe this is from the early to mid 1960's.
The car measures about 9” long by 3 5/8” wide by 2 ¾” high. The car has seen better days. It appears to be missing the lower front end with the grill and bumper detail. The back bumpers are missing along with the license plate and the exhaust and tail lights on one side. There is a broken tab on the inside that I have shown in the photos and I'm not sure how the back end attaches to the chassis so I assume something is missing there. Most of the plastic body has nice gloss and light scuff wear but the top, between the windshields is dull and scratched. It appears that’s where the decal had been and then removed. There are also dull circles, again from the decals, on the door panels and on the back end. The used decals are included. The wheels are in very nice condition and the tires show minimal wear. The engine spins and seems to have compression but I don’t know if it still works so it is being sold as-is.
