This wonderful old book, The Dickens Digest is a compilation of Four Great Dickens Masterpieces Condensed for the Modern Reader. It consists of David Copperfield, Pickwick Papers, Oliver Twist and Martin Chuzzlewit. The stories were condensed by Mary Louise Aswell and illustrated by Donald McKay. It contains 543 pages and it was published by Whittlesey House a division of McGraw Hill Book Company with a 1943 copyright date. No dust jacket.
It measures about 6 5/8” by 9 7/8” by 1 5/8” and is in generally good condition. The inner pages appear to be unmarked, crisp and clean and it has a tight spine. The hardbound cover shows minor edge, corner & scuff wear.
