This pottery bird looks proud with his neck out stretched and his head held high. It is an older piece, probably from the Tonala area of Mexico. It has subtly decorated earth tone pigments and the glaze is very thin. The hand painted design on the back is a bird, berries and assorted foliage. It is marked; Mexico on the bottom.
It measures about 4” wide and about 6” high and is in nice condition with minor wear to the paint and glaze.
