This small plate is an old souvenir from Roseburg Oregon and you can almost imagine this scene taking place on one of Roseburg’s beautiful lakes. In the center is Victorian woman seated in a canoe while reading her book (possibly something by Jane Austin). Beneath the picture the caption; Canoemates. The scene has an artist’s signature that appears to be Christy. Below that, in gold it reads; Souvenir of Roseburg, Oregon. There is a decorative gold band that runs about three quarters of the way around the plate and the edge of the plate is also trimmed in gold. There is no hanging device on the back and was probably displayed on a plate shelf or used with a plate hanger. The back has a green backstamp that reads; Dresden China.
It measures about 6 ½” in diameter and is in good condition with minimal wear to the decal and gold no other damage. There is age crazing over the entire plate.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
